Fieldwork Fellowship Application

APPLICATION PACKAGE

1) Complete the Cover Form and include your current academic status and affiliation.
2) Undergraduate Students: Include a program narrative defining your interests in the fieldwork program you plan to attend. Explain the educational components of the fieldwork school explaining the lesson plans, learning opportunities, and specific archaeological site techniques/methods to be used in the program.
3) Graduate Students: Include a program narrative (minimum 300 words) defining how the field school experience will further your graduate studies with focus upon specific research activities and anticipated outcomes.
4) Include your Curriculum Vitae.
5) Include a copy of the official Letter of Acceptance from the field school program you are planning to attend.
6) Include a detailed budget outline of your program expenditures.
7) Provide a signed Letter of Recommendation (on official college/university letterhead) from a professor at your university supporting your application for the field school you are planning to attend. The recommender shall be the primary evaluator for the applicant.
8) Provide the names of two additional references who can support your application.
9) Include a copy of your current academic transcript from the Registrar’s office. The transcript may be a copy labeled “Issued to the Student” which is an acceptable format for the application.
10) Field school staff members are eligible to apply and must designate their “staff status” in the Cover Form.
11) Send your application package via email with the PDF attachments to: office@etruscanfoundation.org
Applications received after the published application deadline date will be disqualified.

TERMS

The Etruscan Foundation Fieldwork Fellowship recipients are required to:
1) Sign a Letter of Agreement prior to receiving the Fellowship award funds. Submit a detailed accounting of expenses for which The Etruscan Foundation funds were used by October 1st after the conclusion of the fieldwork project season. Return unused portions of the Fellowship award to The Etruscan Foundation within 30 days of completing the program report.
2) Submit a 250-word (single-spaced) report with illustrations about the project, including work undertaken and objectives achieved to the Foundation office by October 1st after the conclusion of the fieldwork project.
3) Notify the Foundation office of any changes in the fieldwork program that take place after the Fellowship is awarded. Fellowship recipients who are unable to attend the program for which the Fellowship has been awarded shall notify The Etruscan Foundation immediately in accordance with the Letter of Agreement.
4) Acknowledge The Etruscan Foundation in any work resulting from the sponsored activities.
